"Our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful part of us." - David Richo

Four Stones Collaborative Group is a mental health practice that provides care of the highest quality to individuals and families in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Clients can expect a therapeutic encounter with professionals who are compassionate and expertly-seasoned in their respective disciplines. They can also expect administrative services that are discreet, streamlined and attentive to their specific needs. As our name implies, we believe that collaboration is the key to successfully overcoming life’s challenges. Our goal is to work with you as a team, utilizing a holistic approach to mental health care that incorporates biological, psychological, social, and spiritual interventions.

The “stones” of Four Stones are a reference to the mysterious standing stones of ancient societies, symbols of endurance and strength through the tests of time and the harsh elements of nature. There are four of these stones in our name, each representing a key component that we believe is necessary for sustaining you in every stage of life.

The Sheltering Stone

The Sheltering Stone

The top stone is the sheltering stone and represents all the tools at our disposal to help you through PRESENT challenges, biologically. We believe that whatever the cause, mental illness affects our physical bodies and treatment should not exclude physical remedies. Though in most cases diet, exercise, and good sleep hygiene are enough to restore us to our best selves, there are times when medication can be a powerful tool to reboot the brain and even protect it from further damage. In our initial assessments at Four Stones, we screen for conditions that may require medical intervention and we will talk you through the benefits and risks of these treatments which can shelter you in times of distress.

The Monument Stone

The Monument Stone

The stone on the left is the monument stone. It represents a changed perspective on our PAST that is developed through the process of talk-therapy and focuses on our triumphs instead of our tragedies. Because we are easily forgetful as human beings, every society through the ages has erected monuments to remind its people of epic moments in their history.  At Four Stones, we believe that the purpose of psychotherapy, or what many call “the talking cure” is a way to shift a person’s focus from the negative to the positive. By meeting with a professional who is trained to help you navigate difficult situations, thoughts, and feelings in a safe, nonjudgmental environment, and as you become more successful in conquering life’s stressors, our firm belief is that you will see your past as a thing to celebrate rather than mourn.

The Table Stone

The Table Stone

The center stone is the table stone. The table is where we gather to meet and form relationships with people who will walk with us into the FUTURE. At Four Stones, we believe that all of us want three things from the people in our lives: we want to be known, we want to be accepted, and we want to be empowered to be more than we can be alone. Four Stones’ collaborative model encourages clients to use all of the resources available to them, including friends, family, faith communities, physicians, therapists, and even other clients in a group therapy setting. We believe in the adage that there is safety in a multitude of counselors. To the extent that you, the client, are willing to give consent, we will reach out to these important people in your life and encourage collaboration for a richer, more effective therapeutic experience.

The Carving Stone

The Carving Stone

The stone on the right is the carving stone. Much of our understanding of ancient societies comes from the narratives they’ve left for us in their carvings of stone and other precious metals. If you want a truth to last for thousands of years, you carve it into stone, but if you want a truth to last for ETERNITY, you carve it into a person’s heart. At Four Stones, we recognize that feeling better just to feel better, isn’t the goal. We believe that asking the bigger questions of life, understanding one’s purpose for living, and giving back to future generations is where redemption really takes place. Redemption is the exchange of all that which is broken, ugly, tragic, and painful for that which is whole, beautiful, triumphant, and life-giving. With redemption, the pieces of our lives are REGATHERED, REBUILT, and RESTORED to a temple more beautiful and awe-inspiring than we ever thought possible. Our hope is that your experience at Four Stones will be the foundation for that redemptive story, a story that will influence your world, your relationships, and your future for generations to come.
